Clean the track with a dry brush - you’d be surprised how much Coral Gables grit works its way into the channel. What we’d caution you against is the YouTube balance replacement route. Spiral balances are under constant tension. A balance that lets go can take a chunk out of a finger or send a metal rod through the sash.
